There's Nothing Fishy about Fishing

Today dad and I really brought home the bacon, or should I say fish. Even though it was pretty cold and wet today, dad and I went on a deep sea fishing adventure off the coast of PEI.
The boat supplied raincoats, fishing rods and bait and it had about 18 people on it. The first few fish we caught were perch, which are edible but have too many bones. Some people started to catch a few cod, some big and some small, but dad and I were some of the few who didn’t catch any cod at all. We decided to move into the shallower waters which are about 40 feet deep which is where we caught some mackerel. I caught 11 fish and dad caught 5, but unfortunately most of them were too small to eat.
On the journey home there was a person at the end of the boat cutting the heads off the mackerels, which made about 50 seabirds follow us home. As soon as one head would fall into the water, the birds would scream and yell and then dive. The seagulls and gannets were huge, about the size of a pillow when they opened up their wings!
I would highly recommend deep sea fishing, especially with your dad, because its a great experience, but you do get wet!
